Wytout Island

This ficticious island is created based on an island created from a volcano in the Pacific "Ring of Fire" where the lava from the volcano cooled and sand was imported to make the course, so a lava ring surrounds the island guarding the sand from the ocean. On this sand bed, grass and palm trees were planted in strategic locations to create a golf course and the boat dock on the south side of the island near the clubhouse was originally the only access to the island before it was decided to change the course to make it PGA Tour ready. As the holes were lengthened, an airfield was built in southwest corner of the island to allow small planes and helicopters access to the course.

There is no rough or bunkers on this course as everything off the fairways lands in the sand and many of the longer holes have pockets of fairway in the sand in an effort not to have to use so much grass for areas where a golf ball will never land. The par 5's are long as only one is in the 500 yard range with the longest being the 18th with a wopping 739 yards from the back tees. Several of the par 3's have areas near the green where no grass was planted creating what can be considered bunkers.

Hope you can enjoy this challenging but playable island course.
